Privacy Policy

This page explains what personal information CIZELE collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to be read rather than to be survived.

The short version

• We collect what you send us in a consultation request, and your email address if you join our list.
• We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. It sets cookies. Nothing else tracks you here — no advertising pixels, no session recording, no remarketing.
• If you design a ring, we save that design so you can come back to it and so we can answer your enquiry properly. It is not attached to your name.
• We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone for marketing.
• You can ask us to delete everything we hold about you, and we will.

What we collect

When you request a consultation

The consultation form asks for your name and a way to reach you, which may be an email address, a phone number or a WhatsApp number. It also collects what you tell us about the piece you have in mind: the type of jewellery, your timeline, any preferences, and your message. If you choose to upload reference images, we store those too.

We use this only to reply to you and to design and make the piece you are asking about.

When you join the atelier list

We store your email address and the date you subscribed. Nothing else. We use it to send occasional updates about new designs and pieces. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can ask us to remove you at any time.

Automatically

Our web host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running. We use a short-lived record of your IP address to limit how many times the same visitor can submit a form in an hour, which is how we prevent automated abuse. It is not used to identify or profile you.

We also use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people move through the site — which designs get looked at, where a journey stops, whether an enquiry actually reaches us. It records the pages you view and a small number of actions: starting a design, choosing a setting or a stone, opening an enquiry, sending us a message, and joining the atelier list. It does not record your name, your email address, or anything you type into a form.

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser, named _ga and similar, so that a repeat visit is not counted as a new person. Google processes this data on our behalf and may store it outside Egypt. If you would rather not be measured, any browser extension or setting that blocks Google Analytics will stop it, and nothing on this site will break.

Analytics is switched off entirely for anyone logged in to manage the site.

What we do not do

We think this is worth stating plainly, because most privacy policies bury it.

• No advertising trackers and no remarketing. There is no Meta Pixel, no Google Ads tag, and nothing here that follows you to another website.
• No session recording. No heatmaps, no screen recording, no tool that replays what you did on the page.
• No cookies beyond analytics. Apart from the Google Analytics cookies described above, an ordinary visit sets none.
• No accounts, no payments. We do not display prices, take orders or process payments online, so we never handle your card or banking details.
• No selling or sharing your data with third parties for their own marketing.

The ring you design

If you use the ring builder, your choices are kept in your browser’s local storage so you can close the tab and pick up where you left off. If our newsletter invitation appears, a note is stored the same way so it does not appear again for a month. Both stay on your device, and clearing your browser data removes them.

We also save the design itself on our server, so that it has a short link you can return to or send to someone — an address like /my-ring/A7F3K2QM/. What we store is the design and nothing else: the setting, the cut, the metal, the band, the profile, any engraving text, and the reference of the stone you chose. There is no name, no contact detail and no account attached to it, and we have no way of knowing whose design it is unless you go on to send us an enquiry.

Anyone holding that link can see the design, so treat it the way you would any link you share. Saved designs are deleted automatically after 30 days if nothing comes of them.

Who else sees your information

Only the people who need to in order to reply to you and make your piece. Beyond the atelier itself, your information may pass through:

• Our web host, which stores the site and its database.
• Our email provider, which delivers the message we send you and the notification we receive.
• Google, which processes the analytics described above. It receives how the site is used, never what you write to us.

If you choose to continue a conversation on WhatsApp, that conversation is handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy terms rather than ours. Using WhatsApp is always your choice, and every enquiry can be handled entirely by email instead.

How long we keep it

Consultation requests are kept for as long as we may reasonably need them, which includes after a piece is made, because a record of what we built and for whom is part of servicing and repairing it later. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Reference images you upload are deleted along with the enquiry they belong to. Saved ring designs expire on their own after 30 days. Analytics data is retained by Google under its own schedule.

If you would rather we did not keep any of it, ask, and we will delete it.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• tell you what we hold about you,
• correct anything that is wrong,
• delete everything we hold about you, including any images you uploaded,
• stop sending you emails.

Email consultations@cizelejewelry.com and we will action it. We will not ask you to justify the request.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection. Uploaded files are restricted to images and are checked before being stored. Access to enquiry records is limited to the atelier. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise, but we do not hold payment details, which removes the most sensitive category of data entirely.

Children

This site is intended for adults and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will say so rather than expect you to notice.
