Lab-Grown vs. Natural Diamonds: Which Is Right for You
How lab-grown diamonds are actually made, why natural stones remain equally legitimate, and the certification both share.

Internationally, lab-grown has already gone mainstream. In Egypt, it’s newer, awareness is still catching up to what buyers in London, Dubai and New York already take for granted. Choosing lab-grown here isn’t a risk on something untested. It’s getting ahead of a shift that has already happened everywhere else.
How a lab-grown diamond is actually made
Two real, well-established processes exist. HPHT recreates the pressure and heat conditions deep in the earth, compressing a carbon seed under enormous pressure and temperature until it crystallises into diamond. CVD is more common today: a diamond seed is placed in a sealed chamber filled with carbon-rich gas, which is heated until carbon atoms deposit onto the seed layer by layer, growing the stone from the atomic level up. Both processes take weeks, not months, and produce a stone with the same atomic structure as one formed underground.
Natural: not a lesser choice, a different one
We still set a meaningful share of natural, earth-mined stones. Nothing about lab-grown replaces that. The choice comes down to what you value more: geological rarity built over a billion years, or newer value at the same brilliance. Neither is “the real one.” Both are.

Every stone we set, either origin, is independently graded by one of the three labs the trade actually trusts. Your certificate is permanent proof of exactly what you bought, not a sales document.
